Before you trick-or-treat: Here's how to check if there are sex offenders in the area

It's an exciting time of year for kids who are amped to dress in costume and binge on free candy.

But as a parent, it's easy to be concerned for your kids' safety. You want to be sure you're sending them to safe homes.

There's an easy way to check for sex offenders in certain areas across the state.

All you have to do is use this search tool on the Ohio Attorney General's website.

Type in an address and click the pins on the map to learn about registered sex offenders living nearby. The site provides a photo of each offender, their exact address and details of their offenses.
