"Together, we are changing people’s lives for the better," said one representative for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association held its annual Halloween Run for Justice on Saturday, marking the 20th year the organization has held the fun run.

The event, which takes place the last Saturday of October each year, included both in-person and virtual runs, as well as a golf outing and cycle challenge. This year, 400 participants signed up to take part in one of the various activities included in the event.

So, where exactly does the money go? Right back into the community, one representative says.

"Monies raised today support a variety of community programs made possible by our army of lawyers giving back," says Caitlin Peterson with the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. "Nearly 1,000 volunteers each year go into the Cleveland Metropolitan Schools, East Cleveland’s Shaw High School, and a variety of other locations to provide free legal services and to inspire the next generation of professionals to live their best lives through high school, into college and beyond.  Together, we are changing people’s lives for the better."

3News Digital Anchor and Legal Analyst Stephanie Haney and Digital Producer Hope Sloop also took part in the 5k run Saturday morning.

"Thank you to @CleMetroBar for putting on the 20th annual Halloween Run For Justice! The law should be a great equalizer, but if we can’t all access it and navigate it the same way, it isn’t. That’s this is a cause worth supporting," Haney wrote on Twitter.
