It's back! Haunted car wash returns to Medina for 2 weekends this Halloween season

As soapy foam blankets your vehicle, it provides the perfect cover for creepy clowns and other frightening figures to quietly approach your car.

MEDINA, Ohio — Editor's note: Video at the top of this story is from a previous season at the haunted car wash.

Looking for some unique Halloween fun that's not your typical haunted attraction?

This one might be perfect for you...

Just off I-71 along Route 18, the Rainforest Car Wash in Medina is cranking up the scares this Halloween season with a gaggle of ghouls hiding in the suds waiting to scare the living soap out of you -- and your vehicle gets clean in the process.

As the soapy foam blankets your vehicle, it provides the perfect cover for creepy clowns and other frightening figures to quietly approach your car while it slowly moves through the wash's terrifying tunnel.

The 2022 haunted car wash event, which is exclusively at 2700 Medina Road, will run for two weekends from 6-9 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Oct. 21-22
  • Oct. 28-29

While the haunted car wash is free for members, non-members are required to pay $25 per vehicle (credit card only). There are no reservations available, and tickets -- which must be purchased on site -- are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to the popularity of the event, Rainforest Car Wash says the line typically starts forming approximately 30 minutes prior to opening.

Back in 2019, this same experience gained national attention with millions of views across social media. The following year, we sent 3News' Mike Polk Jr. there for his own spooky experience, which you can watch in the video below:

What about the kids?

"We consider this a kid-friendly event as there is no violence or extreme gore," according to the Rainforest Car Wash site. "However, there are jump-scares and scary costumes. Kids of all-ages have attended and enjoyed this event, but it is not for everyone. Parents are encouraged to use their own discretion."
