Resolution: Learn a new language

  • App: Memrise
  • How it works: Watch and learn real conversational language from native speakers. Get a personalized learning experience that gives you just the right level of challenge to keep you motivated. 
  • Is it free? Yes.

Resolution: Lose weight

  • App: MyFitnessPal
  • How it works: MyFitnessPal helps you count your calories. All you have to do is pop in the meals you eat throughout the day and it’ll work out the rest, telling you how many calories you have left. It also will tell you how many calories and nutrients are in specific foods.
  • Is it free? Yes.

Resolution: Travel more

  • App: Skyscanner
  • How it works: Skyscanner lets you search specific destinations and dates but if you’re feeling spontaneous, you can click ‘Explore Everywhere’ and find the cheapest flights all over the world.
  • Is it free? Yes.

Resolution: Take care of yourself

  • App: Aloe Bud
  • How it works: Aloe Bud helps you make sure you’re taking care of yourself by sending you gentle reminders to drink water, take deep breaths, move around and more. 
  • Is it free? Yes.

Resolution: Save money and make money

  • App: Ibotta
  • How it works: After you add offers to your account, go shopping for the specified products, take a picture of your receipt and just like that, Ibotta will give you cash back. Once you’ve earned at least $20 dollars, you can cash out into your PayPal or Venmo account, or get a gift card.

  • How it works: The app encourages you to break down your goals into chunks, and lets you set up and track your habits. It helps you break bad habits, and set good habits.

  • App: The Nike+ Run Club 
  • How it works: Nike+ Run Club is a running app. Based on your goals and fitness level, it will adapt its recommended training curriculum to better suit your progress. It also sends you “shoutouts” to keep you motivated.
