Cleveland Clinic offering 'Galentine’s Day' e-card to raise money for heart disease research

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and men in the United States.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Clinic is teaming up with American Greetings for a special "Galentine's Day" initiative: Raising awareness for women's heart health.

On Feb. 13, a fundraiser allows gal pals around the country to support heart disease research with the purchase of a $14 e-card from American Greetings.

Each Creatacard can be customized by the donor with personal photos, a message and signature before it’s delivered -- and 100% of the money raised will be donated to heart research underway at Cleveland Clinic.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and men in the United States. It causes one in every four U.S. deaths, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The money donated will fund research aimed at discovering treatments and identify preventative measures that will stop heart disease in women before it begins.
