CHARDON, Ohio — A Chardon High School student turned to music after she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
Eighteen-year-old senior Katy found a peaceful distraction in music when it came time for her pain and medical treatments. She found solace in music therapy and often spent her time in the hospital playing Mozart on a portable piano.
On Monday, Katy received a special surprise from Make-A-Wish.
Chardon High School's choir room was transformed into a world-class choir facility so Katy and other students can share her love for music. She also received several music-related gifts to keep her passion alive.
