Call ahead to adopt a new pet

CLEVELAND — In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Cleveland Animal Protective Leauge (APL) will be doing pet adoptions by appointment only in an effort to control the number of people at the shelter.

All pets available for adoption can be viewed at their website: clevelandapl.org/adopt or on their free app available in the Google Play and Apple Stores.

Adopters are asked to call the shelter at 216-771-4616 (ex: 0) to make an appointment to meet a pet.

The Cleveland APL has been forced to reduce non-urgent animal intake and temporarily suspend other services such as its Trap-Neuter-Return program.

Staff is asking their generous supporters not to come to the shelter to drop off donations but to go to their Amazon wish list and donate from there.
