Humane Society of Summit County to celebrate "Bark in the Park"

Summit County's largest celebration of pets is set for this Saturday at Lock 3

AKRON, Ohio — The Humane Society of Summit County and Lock 3 are gearing up for their annual "Bark in the Park" party this Saturday, May 11.

The dog friendly event will feature a "Pledge Walk" and pet expo.

Vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, contests, and raffles, are all part of the fun as the party is expected to draw over 2,500 animal lover and pet enthusiasts.

The annual "Bark in the Park" is a fundraiser to help abandoned, neglected and abused animals in Summit County through rescue, rehabilitation and adoption.

The Pledge Walk will start at noon along Main Street in downtown Akron.

Participants are encouraged to raise money by asking family and friends to donate to their walk.

Bark in the Park opens at 11:00 a.m. Admission is $5.00 for adults and free for children 12 and younger.  

Dog admission is free as well!
