Progressive partners with Pets Best to help employers offer pet insurance coverage

The benefits will be available to all U.S. companies looking to add pet insurance as a voluntary employee benefit.

MAYFIELD, Ohio — Progressive is looking to help you protect your four-legged friends by expanding into the voluntary pet insurance game. 

Through a relationship with with Pets Best, Progressive Pet Insurance by Pets Best will be available to all U.S. companies looking to include pet insurance electable as a voluntary employee benefit.

"Pet ownership in this country is at an all-time high, and costs for veterinary care continue to rise as we see more sophisticated medical technologies and improved treatment options. To help address this challenge, many pet owners are turning to pet insurance for protection," said Chris Middleton, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Pets Best. Progressive has been in partnership with Pets Best since 2009, offering pet health insurance plans to dog and cat owners throughout the U.S.

The coverage is flexible, allowing employees to elect the amount of coverage that suits their needs and comes with free 24/7 Pet Helpline access amid any pet wellness questions or concerns.

Employers will face no additional fees by adding Progressive Pet Insurance by Pets Best as a voluntary benefit for their employees and is available to companies of any size. Employers will also have the option to cover part or all of the pet insurance for their employees, or elect to have their employees pay the premiums directly.
