MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio — “We need some help for this little puppy.”

That is the plea from the Middleburg Heights Animal Kennel.

They posted two photos of a dog Wednesday, which they say was found abandoned and tied to a garbage can in a cemetery. Kennel officials said it’s unknown how long the dog had been left alone.

“There are some medical issues that need to be addressed very soon!” the kennel posted. “If anyone can help please let us know and we will give you the veterinarian’s office number if ANYONE can donate direct to them for the procedures.”

Anybody who can help is asked to call Community Vet at 216-273-1044.

"Thank you all for your adoption interests!!" the kennel posted in an update Thursday morning. "Right now please don't ask to adopt this dog. We are just trying to get this pup the medical attention that is so desperately needed."

The kennel said they aren't providing many additional details because of the possibility of a criminal case.

"Please understand and be patient with the situation."
