Richmond Heights Police rescue dog trapped under deck

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio — A dog was rescued after getting trapped underneath a deck over the weekend. 

Richmond Heights Police responded to a home Saturday for a reports of a Shih Tzu being trapped under a deck. 

Sgt Rick Olexa and Officer Ryan Pate responded and were able to safely and successfully rescue the dog by removing one of deck's boards. 

"Our guys love helping people, including their pets the department said in a Facebook post about the incident. 

The dog appeared to be uninjured.
