This past Friday marked the 4th annual Everstream Charity Golf Outing. Each year, Everstream chooses a charity to benefit as part of its golf tournament. This year, Wags 4 Warriors was the recipient.

It’s a choice that made perfect sense for Everstream.

“Four years ago, we decided to give back to the community,” said Bill Major, Everstream’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We started a golf tournament where 100 percent of the proceeds are being delivered to the charity of choice. Being able to support our current employees that are veterans as well as supporting an organization that is giving back to those that have served. It’s a great opportunity for us to give back.”

About 150 employees, vendors, friends and family took part in the tournament. When play was wrapped up for the day, Everstream raised $20,000 for Wags.

The money will help Wags continue to provide service dogs to veterans in need. Frank DeLorenzo, Wags 4 Warriors founder, shared his story and mission, with Roxy by his side.

“We started in 2011 with the idea of our brothers and sisters never having to pay for a service animal with the cost of these dogs costing up to $25,000. Some people were charging veterans that much for dogs. With your support you are going to be able to save a veteran. So, thank you so much for coming out on this beautiful day to golf.”

On hand to help present the check was the television voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Fred McLeod.

In the 4 years since its first charity golf tournament, Everstream has raised $81,000 for various charities.

Everstream is a regional fiber optic provider serving five states, with about 90 employees right here in Northeast Ohio.
