CLEVELAND — If you’re ready to adopt a new furry friend, Summit County Animal Control is doing its part to make the process more affordable for you.
The cost of adopting dogs and cats has been substantially discounted at Summit County Animal Control, 250 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, for the duration of WKYC Studios’ Clear the Shelters drive.
Through Saturday, Sept. 18, dogs can be adopted for $28 (regularly $94) and cats can be adopted for $10 (regularly $60) at the animal control shelter, according to a news release from Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro. A 2021 Summit County dog license is included in the adoption price.
The animals will be ready to be taken home, and will have all undergone blood work, flea treatments, intestinal de-worming, spaying/neutering and vaccinations.
You must have an appointment to participate in the event. Please call 330-643-2845 to schedule your appointment.
Clear the Shelters is an annual pet adoption drive, sponsored nationwide by NBC and Telemundo and stations.
