Macy's has partnered with nonprofit Clothes4Souls to present its eighth annual "Buy a Coat and We'll Donate One" campaign.
From Wednesday, October 7 to Sunday, October 11, for every eligible coat purchased online, Macy's will donate a brand new coat, up to 20,000 coats, to Clothes4Souls to those in need this winter.
"According to the World Bank, COVID-19 is set to push 71 million people into extreme poverty in 2020. Macy's is committed to giving back, sharing joy and being there for the community in times of need," a press release for the event states. "This unprecedented time has brought challenges to many families in the communities Macy's colleagues live and work, and Macy's is proud to support incredible organizations - such as Clothes4Souls - whose impactful work plays a vital role in strengthening and enriching the local community and beyond."
Macy's partnership with Clothes4Souls has seen 270,000 new coats distributed to those in need across the nation since its inception in 2013, retailing at over $10 million.
Clothes4Souls is a division of the non-profit Soles4Soles, based in Nashville, Tennessee, which aims to repurpose unwanted shoes and clothing to supply direct assistance and disaster relief programs across the globe.
