A Meijer store is no longer coming to the old Geauga Lake property.
A company spokesperson tells WKYC that Meijer signed a contract to buy the property and had a year to work thru logistics.
However, that year has passed and the superstore chain says the site at Geauga Lake is not ready for construction.
The company still owns several Northeast Ohio sites and says it will open its first Cleveland-area stores in Avon, Mentor and Stow next summer.
