It's a new year and many are resolving to change their relationship status.

If you're one of them, mark your calendar for Sunday. That's the busiest day of the year for online dating, according to the "Today Show."

"Today" says dating apps see a 50 to 85 percent spike on Jan. 6, AKA "Singles Sunday."

Experts say the surge in those searching for love may be a result of people feeling lonely during the holidays, New Year's resolutions and Valentine's Day approaching.

Who will you find if you log on and start swiping Sunday?

"Today" says nearly half of Americans over the age of 18 are single, and dating app usage among the 18-24 age crowd has tripled in recent years.

Experts told "Today" that you can improve your chances at finding a match if you use dating apps at night, when users are more active. They also recommend reaching out more to your matches to ignite sparks.

The good news? One in three relationships start online, according to "Today."
