The Princeton Prize in Race Relations is awarded to a high school student who has mad an impact in his or her school or community.

Jasmyne McCoy a Solon High School student was selected as the 2017 recipient.  

McCoy is being honored for creating her school's first ever,  African-American culture club.

The club holds monthly discussions and plans various educational trips. 

McCoy, as well as three other local prize finalists were honored at a ceremony Wednesday, at The Union Club on Euclid Ave.

In addition to the recognition, McCoy will receive a $1,000 prize and a trip to Princeton University at the end of the month to take part in a symposium on race relations with 25 other students from around the nation.
