8 companies represent Northeast Ohio in Fortune Magazine's annual list of the top 500 revenue-generating firms in the nation.

Here are the 8 companies that made it into the 'Fortune 500':

#112--Progressive Insurance (Mayfield Village) $26.8 billion in revenues

#187--Goodyear Tire and Rubber (Akron) $15.4 billion in revenues

#190--Sherwin Williams (Cleveland) $15 billion in revenues

#219--FirstEnergy (Akron) $13.6 billion in revenues

#256--Parker-Hannifin (Cleveland) $12 billion in revenues

#383--J.M. Smucker (Orrville) $7.4 billion in revenues

#412--KeyCorp (Cleveland) $6.9 billion in revenues

#465--TravelCenters of America (Westlake) $6.1 billion in revenues

By comparison, the greater Columbus area had four companies make the Fortune 500, led by #14 Cardinal Health. Greater Cincinnati had 9 companies crack the Fortune 500, led by Kroger at #17. Ohio had 25 companies overall in the Fortune 500.
