After more nearly two decades in business, an Ohio City staple is closing its doors--but not for good.
The owners of Bier Market and Bar Cento announced on social media on Thursday that it was time to "wish a fond farewell to our first adventure together."
After 16 years, the business is closing permanently, in the new year, to make room for a new concept. Bier Market and Bar Cento first open back in 2005 and has seen the area transform into the trendy hub that it is today.
"It was a rough neighborhood in need of improvement, but we love this fair City and saw so much potential at every turn," the owners recalled. "In the 16 years that followed, we've enjoyed every magical moment with our guests, families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. We've loved watching Ohio City grow into the vibrant, bustling, fun-filled neighborhood it is today. "
After closing, the business will reopen after construction with a " fresh, new, and exciting concept," the owners wrote.
The establishment's speakeasy will remain open throughout the transition. All of Bier Market and Bar Cento team members will remain employed during the conversion.
"Right up to the moment we close our doors for the final time, we'll be celebrating all the fun and festive times we've enjoyed together over these past 16 years at Bier Market and Bar Cento, the social media post read.
