Working hard to find Labor Day deals?

There will be savings, but not as big as in the past according to retail experts.

CLEVELAND — The biggest back to school sales can usually be found during Ohio's tax-free weekend. But since so many parents have waited to shop until knowing what their schools would do, you can find loads of school-related bargains this Labor Day weekend.

If that's not what you need, there are many other items on sale...although they may not be as big as in years past

Alison Stiefel, General Manager of ShopStyle, an online fashion marketplace says, "They were starting to get rid of some of the inventory a little bit sooner, with the unknown of what was going to happen during the fall. And so, that's why we saw some pretty big sales in July that weren't typically during that time period. Https://www.shopstyle.com/

As retailers try to unload what they planned on selling last month for back-to-school, you'll see huge savings on clothing at department stores like Macy’s. https://www.macys.com/

You’ll also find deals on school supplies and accessories at Walmart https://www.walmart.com/  and Target https://www.target.com/.

Another option, according to Julie Ramhold, Senior Blogger at the comparison shopping website Dealnews, is "If you have other families that you can split supplies with, you could go so far as to looking at warehouse clubs, because sometimes the per unit price is much better there." https://www.dealnews.com/

There are also great deals on laptops this Labor Day. Lenovo’s selling laptops up to sixty five percent off. https://www.lenovo.com/

And computer sales are not just online. If you want to kick the tires so to speak, Best buy is keeping brick and mortar alive, selling electronics up to thirty percent off. You’ll also find deals there on appliances. https://www.bestbuy.com/

Stretching out your summer? Home Depot's selling patio furniture up to twenty percent off. https://www.homedepot.com/. With Wayfair, it's up to seventy percent off for decor inside the home, including desks for home offices. https://www.wayfair.com/

You can also rest easy you'll get a deal on mattresses…up to seventy percent off with a coupon at JCPenny, and deals on all bedding. https://www.jcpenney.com/

And then, Layla sleep is taking up to $200 off in its sale, with more stores expected to get on board. https://laylasleep.com/

As for Amazon, you’ll always find deals there, but you’re likely better off waiting for Prime Day for the deepest discounts. Although that date hasn’t been announced yet. https://www.amazon.com/

Of course, you can stretch all of these savings further by adding a savings search web extension like CamelCamelCamel https://camelcamelcamel.com/, or downloading a cash back app like Rakuten https://www.rakuten.com/.

But keep in mind, if you're going to buy online, and that's what many shoppers are doing, be prepared for possible web site crashes. Also, you may want to consider curbside pickup, because some delivery services have added surcharges. So, check that first.
