PITTSBURGH — Giant Eagle has issued a voluntary recall for certain packages of its Dried Island Fruit Mix due to possible unspecified allergens in the product.

While there doesn't appear to be anything specifically wrong with the food itself, the mix apparently was found to contain potential peanut, almond, milk, or soy products that were not listed on the packaging. Those with allergies to these foods could experience a serious or life-threatening reaction of they eat it.

The company was made aware of the issue by a customer, and says it was a result of a packaging error by the manufacturer. The packages in question have a "best by" date of January 15, 2021 and a UPC of 3003491435, and were sold at Giant Eagle and Market District stores throughout Ohio.
