Abused Stockton dogs believed to be rented for sex

Stockton Animal Services Division is investigating a horrific case of a possible business involving renting dogs for sex.

Stockton Animal Services Division is investigating a horrific case of a possible business involving renting dogs for sex.

A group called Second Chance Kitty brought three dogs in to Venetian Pet Hospital in Stockton.

Through an examination, veterinarians found that two of the dogs had severe damage and had been sexually abused, including the use of foreign objects.

Volunteers with Second Chance Kitty heard from neighbors and people in the community like Lizet Avila that the dogs were being rented for sex.

Avila's mother confronted the man believed to be involved.

“My mom was like no you're renting those dogs don't lie to me and don't cover it up,” Avila said. “You don't have a heart.”

Avila said she felt helpless for them and rescued the dogs.

“We need to do something, not just to stay quiet,” Avila said. “I will not shut my mouth. I will fight for their rights.”

ABC10 reached out to Stockton Animal Services Division about the accusations. Officials there told us they're in the very early stages of their investigation and can't confirm details.

However, the vet hospital was able to show us medical records and graphic photos of the assaults. One of the dogs, Ava, has a very bad infection but doctors are trying to put off surgery as long as they can because she's pregnant with 10 puppies.

Volunteers involved want someone to be held responsible however no one has been charged yet.
