Browns 'Perfect Season Parade' raises more than $17,000 for Greater Cleveland Food Bank

At least 2,000 canned food items were also collected

The Browns 'Perfect Season Parade' was certainly a site to behold, with roughly 3,000 fans braving the bitter cold to protest the team's ineptness will still having a good time.

While the parade itself was polarizing, one of its aspects was certainly something everyone could get behind: The pledge by organizer Chris McNeil that all excess funds would go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

Today, we're getting a better indication of just how big of an impact those donations will have, as the food bank confirms to WKYC they will be receiving just over $17,000 in monetary funds from parade organizers. Officials say that will be enough to pay for more than 68,000 meals for area families in need.

Additionally, those from the parade also told the food bank they collected at least 2,000 canned food items for further donation. Those items will be dropped off at the food bank Thursday morning, where officials should get a better understanding of just how large the lot is.

All in all, the Perfect Season Parade certainly appears to have done its part for the community, even if it came in lieu of the Browns actually getting a win...
