CLEVELAND —

On Monday's 3News Now with Stephanie Haney, the top headlines and trending topics have an all-American theme, dealing with voting and the Star Spangled Banner, whether it's being performed on television by Chaka Khan at the NBA All-Star game or every day at noon at Mission BBQ in Mentor.

First up, this is your official reminder that Ohio's primary election is March 17 and Tuesday is the deadline to register to vote.

Keep in mind that this election includes more than just voting on the Democratic nominee (if you're a Democrat). For example, in Cuyahoga County, the ballot will includes proposed tax levies for schools, city improvements, our US representative in the House, and judges, to name a few things. (You can check your sample ballot here.)

Why do we care today? Because February 18 is the last day to register for the March 17 election.

Some of you may be able to do it online, if you have all of the following ready to go:

  • An Ohio driver's license or Ohio identification card number

  • Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Address

  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

If you don’t have any of those things, you have to either mail in a form or drop it off in person to your county Board of Elections

Remember, if you're mailing it in, the form must be postmarked by Tuesday. Also keep in mind that today is President’s Day, so the Board of Elections offices are all closed today. Your local post office might be closed today too. It's a good idea to call ahead to see if your branch is open before making a trip out today.

What is open today? Mission BBQ! The popular bbq joint has its grand opening in Mentor today, making this its fourth location in Ohio. The franchise i known for its patriotic vibe, and singing the national anthem every day at noon.

Chaka Khan's performance of the national anthem at Sunday's NBA All-Star game got a lot of attention.

It sounded pretty good for the most part, but there were a few key moments where people said she seemed off-key, when she hit especially high notes.

Some are saying it was a form of protest, and that Khan, age 66, changed the key rather than taking a knee like former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, to make a statement against police brutality and racial inequality.

Khan hasn’t commented to clear up if that’s actually true or just wild speculation.

Speaking of sports, 3News is in Arizona all week as the Cleveland Indians officially get started with spring training.

3News' morning news anchor Dave Chudowsky is there for today’s  first full-squad workout, and will be coming to us live from there all week.

Among other things, we can look forward to his chat with shortstop Francisco Lindor about his contract situation. (Lindor previoulsy said he wants to stay here, but the money has to be right.)

In other news topping our site, HGTV featured a polygamous relationship this week for the first time ever. Polyamory can take many forms, and HGTV's "House Hunters" show featured a “throuple" on its Wednesday episode.

On the show "Three's Not a Crowd in Colorado Springs," Angelica (Geli), Brian and Lori went house shopping in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Their must-haves included a three-car garage and a master bathroom that could fit three sinks.

For those wondering how this relationship came to be, Brian and Lori got married in 2002, have two children, and say they fell in love with Geli after meeting her in a bar.

Just before filming their episode, the trio exchanged vows as a group in a commitment ceremony in Aruba.

NBC News reported that consensual non-monogamy, which includes polyamory, is not uncommon, according to a 2016 study

They study found that over 20% of the several thousand U.S. adults surveyed reported having at some point in their lives experienced this nontraditional romantic arrangement.
