The City of East Cleveland has filed a motion for an appeal against a jury’s multi-million dollar verdict in a police brutality civil lawsuit against the city.
On Friday, August 9, Arnold Black was awarded $50 million dollars after he was beaten by police and locked in a storage closet for four days before being finally being put in jail in 2012.
In a new court filing, the city argues that the judge in the case made a mistake with jury instructions.
