Cleveland Asian Festival returns after being canceled in 2020

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Asian Festival is back after being canceled last year becasue of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For 2021, however, it was virtual, since it does take months of planning for an in-person event. Once again, 3News' Lynna Lai was honored to serve as a guest emcee.

The annual celebration of Asian Pacific Islander heritage included cultural performances, cooking demonstrations and a tour of Cleveland's Asiatown neighborhood. Afterward, everyone was encouraged to head over there and support the local businesses and restaurants.

"I just like the food, the culture, the people are nice, nothing else matters," patron Merouane Sadji said. "They have really good stuff, so that's the reason I come by."
