Six 'Little Free Libraries' arrive in Cleveland's Central neighborhood

It's all part of Promise Reads, a partnership between WKYC and the Sisters of Charity Foundation. The libraries and books were donated by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

At a ceremony held Oct. 13 in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood, a half dozen community residents were recognized as the new stewards of six Little Free Libraries.

Each got to cut the ribbon on his or her new library and were presented with an armload of books.

It’s all part of Promise Reads, a partnership between WKYC and the Sisters of Charity Foundation. The libraries and books were donated by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Reading events continue to happen every month across Cleveland as part of WKYC’s ongoing literacy initiatives.

What began in 2017 as our Slavic Village Reads project, a collaboration with Third Federal and Slavic Village Development Corp., has now spun off into the Hough and Central neighborhoods.
