Warrensville Heights police seeking information on shooting that left a woman dead

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Kayla Garcia of Cleveland.

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A woman is dead after a shooting that took place in Warrensville Heights last week.

The incident took place on Friday, January 27 at a residence on 4000 block of Grenada Boulevard. Warrensville Heights police received a call from a tenant at the location after they heard a gunshot from inside the building. The witness said after hearing the gunshot, they opened their door to check the area and saw a woman lying motionless in the hallway.

By the time officers arrived to the scene, the victim's boyfriend had allegedly already drove her to South Pointe Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Kayla Garcia of Cleveland.

The Warrensville Heights Police Department are investigating this incident as a homicide.
