According to officials, the first homicide took place around 9:05 p.m. Friday night, when a 22-year-old woman was found dead inside the stairwell of an apartment complex on the 1500 block of Crawford Road. She had been shot in the back of the head, and has since been identified as Britney Renee Townsend by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

The second killing took place at roughly 1 a.m. Sunday morning, where witnesses told police there was a party inside an apartment on the 2500 block of Jelliffe Street. Two people — a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman — apparently got into an argument when gunshots rang out, resulting in both the man as well as a separate 21-year-old female being hit. Delvon Williams was later pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center with multiple wounds to his head and body, while the woman's exact condition is unknown. The 26-year-old female has been singled out as a suspect, but no arrests have been made at this time.

Roughly five hours later, a third person was shot dead at a house on the 12300 block of Gay Avenue, later being taken by private van to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. Officers described a "chaotic" scene at the home, which they were later told was "an after-hours establishment" where the 33-year-old victim was working security when he was killed. He has since been identified as Demetrius Williams.

The other shootings took place as follows:

  • Friday, 5:54 p.m.: A 29-year-old man was shot in the head in the 3500 block of East 142nd Street; taken by ambulance to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center
  • Saturday, 2:43 a.m.: A 46-year-old man was shot in the leg and grazed on the arm within the 1900 block of West 77th Street; taken by ambulance to Metro
  • Saturday, 4:29 a.m.: A 26-year-old man arrived at UH saying he had been shot in the cheek at the Euphoria Restaurant & Oxygen Lounge on East 30th Street
  • Saturday, 4:31 a.m.: Another 26-year-old man arrived at Metro with a gunshot wound to his leg, although he was not sure where it occurred
  • Saturday, 10:30 p.m.: A 34-year-old woman arrived at Metro saying she was grazed in the head by a bullet that came through the back of her window while driving, possibly within the 8700 block of Willard Avenue
  • Sunday, 3:11 a.m.: A 24-year-old man was shot in the foot during an apparent robbery at a home on the 1300 block of West 87th Street; later taken to Metro via private auto
  • Sunday, 7:24 p.m.: One 30-year-old man was shot in the stomach and another in the arm during an incident within the 10400 block of Westchester Avenue; both taken by ambulance to UH

In addition to the shootings, there were a pair of stabbings, five suspected overdoses (one fatal), and two car crashes that resulted in three people being seriously hurt. In a particularly bizarre incident Sunday morning, an officer was taken to the hospital after allegedly being bitten by both a female suspect and her dog on the 700 block of Brookpark Road. The woman was arrested at the scene.

Anyone with information on the shooting incidents is asked to immediately call the Cleveland Division of Police at (216) 623-5464 or Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County at (216) 252-7463. Potential cash rewards are available for info connected to the homicides.
