21-year-old injured in Euclid home invasion, Cleveland Police investigating

Detectives are working to determine if two incidents are connected.

EUCLID, Ohio — A 21-year-old man was injured during a home invasion in Euclid early Tuesday morning. 

Police responded to a home the 27000 block of Forestview Avenue for reports of shots fired just after 2 a.m. At the scene, police located the "alert" victim inside, who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for his injury. There is no word on his condition at this time. 

While on scene, officers observed a vehicle with "distinct damage" leaving the area. Shortly after, a similar vehicle was involved in an accident in Cleveland. 

Detectives are currently investigating whether or not the two incidents are related. 

Police have not yet released any information on a potential suspect or motive. Additionally, no arrests have been made. 

Cleveland Police are handling the investigations.
