CLEVELAND — Three Northeast Ohio men are facing possible federal prison time after being indicted on various child pornography charges.

The bulk of the charges centered around 38-year-old Akron resident Matthew Barlow, a registered sex offender who is accused of using email receive and keep 1,483 images of child pornography over a four-year period beginning in February of 2016. The images "contained visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct," and some apparently included a child who lived with Barlow for a time.

In addition to Barlow, 33-year-old David M. Schade—of Cleveland—is charged with using Snapchat in March and April of this year to trick a minor into sending him sexual content that was later distributed to others. Forty-eight-year-old Andrew Allen Meek, of Leetonia, is also accused of receiving and possessing child porn after authorities say they found "numerous" graphic images while conducting a search warrant at his home.

The DOJ stresses these cases are not related. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carol M. Skutnik will be tasked with prosecuting Barlow and Schade, while Michael A. Sullivan will handle the Meek case.
