The Cleveland Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man.
Officials responded to the 9000 block of Holton Avenue for reports of "unknown trouble" on Thursday, just before 2 a.m. At the scene, police found an unknown man bleeding from the face. EMS was on scene and produced the man dead.
The victim was later identified as Avis Thompson by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. It was determined that Thompson suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Members of Cleveland Homicide Detective Unit responded to the scene and continue to investigate. There is no information on a potential suspect or possible motive at this time.
