Cleveland police are investigating after a 68-year-old man was shot multiple times on the city's east side Thursday afternoon.
The shooting occurred on the 1200 block of East 172nd St. Authorities say the man was kicked down the basement stairs and shot by two men who had broken into his home. The suspects fled on foot.
The victim apparently suffered gunshot wounds to his head and abdomen. He has since been taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and was conscious and talking to officers prior to surgery.
