An Akron man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a 21-year-old last November, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced Wednesday.

A judged issued the ruling following 22-year-old Devon Williams' convictions last week on two counts each of murder and felonious assault and one count each of attempted murder and carrying a concealed weapon. He will be eligible for parole after 25 years.

Authorities say Williams shot at both 21-year-old Shawn Prude and another man back on the morning of Nov. 20 while at the Family Foods on Arlington Road. Prude was shot in the neck and torso and died at the scene, while the other victim escaped unharmed. Williams was arrested three days later.
