AKRON, Ohio — A 64-year-old Akron man is facing life in prison for raping a teenager he knew.

On Monday, Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Alison Breaux sentenced Juba Ali after a jury found him guilty of rape, kidnapping, and gross sexual imposition. Judge Breaux also designated Ali as a 'sexually violent predator.'

Prosecutors say Ali was with a female teen in November of 2018, when he took her to a secluded area in Akron and raped her.

This is not the first time Ali will be serving time for rape.

In May of 1998, he was found guilty of rape and kidnapping and given a maximum sentence of 21-and-a-half years in prison. He was released from prison two months before committing the latest offense.
