4 arrested for shooting into a home in Akron

Five firearms, including an AK-47 and an AR-15, were confiscated by police.

AKRON, Ohio — Monday afternoon, members of Akron Police Department's Anti-Violence Bureau spotted four men shooting into a home in the 400 block of Chittenden Street. Although there were people inside of the home at the time of the incident, Akron police say that no one was hurt. 

Patrol officers immediately blocked the suspect's vehicle from leaving and quickly caught two of the suspects. Two other suspects attempted to flee on foot but were arrested on nearby Talbot Avenue.

Three 19-year-old males were arrested on multiple weapons offenses. Additionally, a 16-year-old was taken into custody.

Inside of the vehicle, Akron officials found five firearms, including two nine-millimeter semi-automatic pistols, one of which had a drum style magazine. An AK-47 assault rifle, an AR-15 assault rifle and a .380 caliber pistol were also recovered. Two of the weapons recovered had been reported missing. 

The three 19-year-old suspects were booked into the Summit County Jail and the juvenile was sent to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Akron Police Department.
