Cleveland police respond to 6 shootings over 9-hour period

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police responded to six shootings at various locations across the city Friday evening and overnight into Saturday morning, with the incidents all occurring over a nine-hour period.

Here is a timeline of the events:

  • 6 p.m.: A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg near West 28th Street and Detroit Avenue; he was taken to Cleveland Clinic - Lutheran Hospital via private transport
  • 9 p.m.: A man in his mid-30s was shot multiple times in the back on the 3200 block of Meyer Avenue; he was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by an ambulance, and his exact condition is unknown at this time
  • 11 p.m.: A 27-year-old man was shot in the back of the leg on the 3600 block of West 32nd Street; he was also taken by ambulance to Metro
  • 11 p.m.: A 28-year-old man was shot in his arm and back, and was taken by private automobile to the Cleveland Clinic's main campus
  • 2 a.m.: A male victim whose age is not known was shot in both hands on the 3500 block of West 50th Street; he was taken by private auto to Metro
  • 3 a.m.: A 23-year-old man was shot in the elbow; officials did not say if he was taken to a local hospital

Although several of these shootings occurred in close proximity to each other on the west side, authorities have not indicated if any could be connected. No suspect information has been given at this time.
