CLEVELAND — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in last week’s deadly shooting of a 25-year-old man in Cleveland, according to new details released by police Tuesday morning.

Cleveland police say it was around 7:30 p.m. Friday when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for shots fired in the 12400 block of Union Avenue.

Upon their arrival, officers found the victim in the parking lot of Union Liquor with gunshot wounds to his head and body.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

“Preliminary information indicates that the victim was engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with a known female,” police said, "and a male who was with that female shot the victim."

The suspect’s name was also not released. The shooting remains under investigation.

No additional details were immediately available.
