EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — Editor's note: The video in the player above is from a previously published, related story.
Detectives with the East Cleveland Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in locating two suspects wanted in connection to the disappearance of 22-year-old Alishah Pointer.
According to officials, Hakeem Ali Shomo and Nathaniel Poke are both possible suspects in the woman's disappearance, which happened early last week.
Late Tuesday afternoon, officials were called to a burned-out home on Savannah Avenue in East Cleveland after receiving a tip that Pointer's body was in the basement of the house. Police confirmed that they did find a Black woman's body, but are waiting for Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office to confirm whether or not it is the missing 22-year-old.
"We are highly confident that is her [Pointer]," East Cleveland Police Chief Scott Gardner told 3News.
Pointer first disappeared on November 4 and was reported missing on November 5.
No further information is available at this time. The matter remains under investigation by the East Cleveland Police Department.
