Man, dog struck in Bay Village hit-and-run; police searching for suspect

CLEVELAND — Police are asking for the Bay Village community's help identifying a hit-and-run suspect who struck a man and his dog on Wednesday, April 1. 

The male victim, a 52-year-old Westlake resident, was walking his dog southbound on the sidewalk in the Aberdeen Avenue and Cahoon Road area when a northbound vehicle struck him and the dog before driving off. Suffering serious but not life-threatening injuries, the victim was transported by the Bay Village Fire Department to Saint John's Westshore. 

Unable to provide officers on scene with a good description of the vehicle, police searched the area but could not find the suspect nor the suspect's vehicle.

The victim's dog was not seriously injured and was able to return home.
