AKRON, Ohio — Police are investigating a serious (and somewhat bizarre) alleged kidnapping and robbery that took place in Akron Tuesday afternoon.

The 54-year-old male victim told investigators he was getting cash from an ATM near Diagonal Road and South Hawkins Avenue when a man and a woman jumped into his truck. The woman apparently pulled out a gun and demanded the driver take them to Mr. Hero to buy sub sandwiches.

After the couple finished at Mr. Hero, police say they made the driver take them to the area of Cortland and Orlando Avenues. The male suspect than allegedly punched the victim and demanded his money, and the victim's wallet, cell phone, and keys were all taken.

The male suspect is described as being around 40 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighing 275 pounds with corn rows in his hair. The female suspect is said to be around 35, around 5-foot-8, and weighing 140 pounds with brown hair. She was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects' identities or whereabouts is asked to immediately call the Akron Police Department at (330) 375-2552.
