The Akron Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Monday afternoon.
At around 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call and met the victim at the Sheetz station on Main Street in Cuyahoga Falls. The 27-year-old man had sustained gunshot wounds to both arms. Police administered first aid, including applying tourniquets to the victim’s arms until EMS arrived and transported him to Summa Health Akron City Hospital.
The victim’s injuries are considered non-life threatening.
As the investigation began, Akron police determined that the victim was shot by an unknown suspect during an altercation at a residence in the 600 block of Spicer Street. Evidence was collected at the scene.
After being shot, the victim drove himself to the Cuyahoga Falls Sheetz and called 911.
There is no suspect description or information at this time. Investigators are working to identify the suspect or suspects involved, who remain at large at this time.
