Officers seize guns, pound of meth in Canton drug bust

Heather Frenz of Canton is facing several felony charges after heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine were seized by authorities with a search warrant.

CANTON, Ohio — A 32-year-old woman is facing several felony charges after law enforcement officials conducted a drug raid at a Canton home on Friday.

According to a release from the Stark County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 1300 block of 18th Street NE by the sheriff's office Metro Narcotics Unit, along with Canton police and FBI task force members. 

Investigators seized several ounces of heroin and cocaine as well as more than a pound of methamphetamine.  Also seized were various pills, two handguns, and approximately $5,000 in cash.

Heather Franz, 32, of Canton, was arrested and is facing the following felony charges:

  • Possession of heroin
  • Aggravated possession of drugs
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Aggravated trafficking of drugs
  • Trafficking in heroin
  • Trafficking in cocaine

“Collaboration is key when it comes to keeping Stark County safe and this is yet another example of the success of these critical partnerships among law enforcement agencies,” said Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier in a statement. “We remain committed to ensuring these dangerous drugs are taken out of circulation and those responsible are held accountable.”
