Police are searching for a suspect following a fatal hit-skip Friday afternoon in Cleveland.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of West 25th St. and Woodbridge Ave., right by MetroHealth Medical Center. Witnesses say an SUV made a left turn onto West 25th and struck a 50-year-old man before fleeing northbound.
The victim was subsequently taken to Metro, where he died from his injuries. His wife, who was with him at the time, was almost hit but ended up not being injured.
Not much is known about the suspect at this time, other than he is about 6 feet tall in his 20s with a beard. He was believed to be driving a white SUV (possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer or something similar) with tinted windows and a temporary license plate.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts is asked to immediately call the Cleveland Division of Police at (216) 621-1234.
