Police searching for man who robbed contractor at AutoNation dealership in Westlake

The suspect is described as a 6-foot white or Hispanic male, wearing a dark hoodie and paintball-style helmet and goggles.

Police from several west side communities are engaged in a search for the suspect wanted for an armed robbery at the AutoNation dealership in Westlake.

Westlake Police Capt. Gerald Vogel says the robbery took place around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A contractor in the AutoNation parking lot at the corner of Clague and Center Ridge was approached by a suspect wearing a dark hoodie and a paintball-style pair of goggles and protective helmet.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot white or Hispanic male. He took out a gun and robbed the contactor of an undisclosed amount of money and left the area on foot. There were no injuries.

Police departments in Westlake, Rocky River, Bay Village, and North Olmsted are searching for the suspect, but no arrests have been made.
