RAVENNA, Ohio — The Ravenna Police Department has provided an update on a shooting that occurred on September 29, 2020.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020 around 8:55 p.m., Ravenna Police Officers responded to the 400 block of Sycamore St. for reports of shots fired. Both vehicles involved in the shooting had fled the scene prior to officers arriving. According to witnesses, the occupants of the vehicles had an altercation when shots were fired. A number of shell casings and shards of glass from one of the windows of the vehicles were located on scene.

All three suspects, Scott McCants, 29, of Ravenna, Martise McWilson, 20, of Streetsboro and James E. Trusnik, 18, of Bedford, have since been arrested for attempted murder.

The Ravenna Police Department and Metro Swat executed a search warrant on October 13, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. at a residence believed to be McCants. Though McCants was not located during the search, he was later located at the Hampton Inn in Streetsboro. In a joint effort with Metro Swat and the Streetsboro Police Department, McCants was arrested early this morning at 6:00 a.m. without incident.

McWilson was arrested during a traffic stop in Streetsboro prior to the October 13th search warrant being served.

Trusnik turned himself in without incident to the Ravenna Police Department earlier this morning.
