CANTON, Ohio — Police are investigating after a couple was shot inside a Canton home early Monday.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. in the 900 block of Third Street NW. Responding officers were flagged down by a woman who said someone had fired several shots into her house.
Officers found a 26-year-old woman and her boyfriend both suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home. The woman was shot in the arm and the male was shot in the head. Both victims were taken to Aultman Hospital, where the male later died.
Police say six to eight dogs were also removed from the home.
Police have not released the victim's identity or potential suspect information. They say they do not believe the shooting was a drive-by incident, nor did the victims appear to be random targets.
