Police have arrested a suspect they say fatally punched a man in Parma just after midnight on New Year's Day.

According to authorities, there had been a "large fight" on the 7200 block of Westlake Ave. that left one victim lying unconscious and bleeding from the head. That victim—identified as 42-year-old Christopher Cosme—later died from his injuries days later at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Investigators determined Cosme had been punched in the head by an unknown suspect before striking his head on the concrete. Twenty-year-old Mark. J. Conley is now accused of being the one who punched him, and he was arrested Thursday in Garfield Heights.

Conley admitted to being involved in the fight, according to officials. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and is currently being held on $250,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Joe Duganier at (440) 887-7337.
