YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Police say the 22-year-old man accused of dragging an Ohio trooper one mile during a traffic stop is in custody.
Jamel Robert Patton turned himself in Friday afternoon.
The incident happened around 11:25 p.m. Thursday when the trooper got stuck in the driver’s door as Patton fled the scene on Glenn Oak Drive.
Police dashcam video shows the officer being dragged on the side of the vehicle before Patton stops and the trooper breaks free.
Patton is then seen driving off.
Authorities say the trooper was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his shoulder and back.
