Teen arrested for murder following dice game shooting in Cleveland last month

He could potentially face the death penalty.

Federal officials have arrested a teen accused of shooting an killing a man on Cleveland's south side last month.

U.S. Marshals confirm 19-year-old Abdul Lakes was taken into custody Wednesday morning on the 3500 block of West 129th St. He had apparently been staying with family at that location.

Lakes is alleged to have shot and killed 21-year-old Nijil Bulger back on May 26 inside an abandoned home on the 7800 block of New York Ave. last month. Witnesses said they saw a dice game being played before hearing shots fired.

"Violence committed by young members of our society has been on the increase and our task force will remain committed to keeping the community safe from such violence," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot said in a statement.

Lakes is charged with aggravated murder, meaning he could potentially face the death penalty.
